A fire broke out at a temporary election office of Daripalla symbol in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar.

The incident took place in the Nazir Para football field area of ​​Ward No. 8 of Teknaf Sadar Union early on Wednesday (February 11).

The office in-charge Md. Alam said that the leaders and activists left the office after the discussion at around 11 pm on Tuesday. Unknown miscreants set the office on fire in the early hours of the morning. The concerned authorities were immediately informed after learning about the matter in the morning.

Navy, BGB and police members visited the spot after receiving the news in the morning. At that time, Teknaf Battalion (2 BGB) Medical Officer Major Shahadat Hossain Shuvo, Teknaf Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Saiful Islam and senior officials of the law enforcement agencies were present.

Later, Teknaf Upazila Executive Magistrate Rakibul Hasan Chowdhury visited the scene. The administration has advised the concerned to file a written complaint. It has been informed that legal action will be taken after identifying those involved in the incident.

Cox’s Bazar District Chhatra Shibir President Abdu Rahim Nuri said that this area is a very risky area, local terrorists are present here. He demanded that the administration increase its surveillance in this regard.

Tension prevails in the area after the incident. The administration has intensified additional surveillance to maintain the law and order situation.
